JacobHarrison I am an undergraduate researcher in the Mehta Lab at UCSC. I am working towards completing a double major in Marine Biology and Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. In the Mehta Lab, I am currently working on moray eel teeth morphometrics and meristics in Gymnothorax mordax, as well as an independent project on terrestrial feeding in moray eels. In the past I’ve worked on material testing and finite elemental analysis of preopercular spines through ontogeny in Myoxocephalus polyacanthocephalus. However, in the future I’m very interested on studying the functional morphology and biomechanics of defense mechanisms in fish. I am currently looking for PhD advisors and graduate programs so that I may further work on this research.
