I am interested in the behavioral and physiological ecology of marine organisms, especially coastal invertebrates. Before I joined the Mehta lab, I worked in the Kay lab collecting morphological data on forbs and grasses and I assisted in re-censusing the UCSC Forest Ecology Research Plot as a part of an internship with the Norris Center. Currently, I am working to describe and compare three invertebrate zooplankton communities from Santa Catalina Island, CA using a trait-based functional group approach. With this research, I will establish a functional group description of these communities and work to identify possible impacts of environmental or anthropogenic factors on community composition. Outside of the lab, I like to hike, read science-fiction novels, and have recently began scuba diving.
